Westley-Davis Academy Online

The following is a checklist of items your computer system will need.  Just like having a pen and paper for traditional classes, the following items are essential to your success with online courses.

BEST VIEWED  

•  Microsoft Internet Explorer  8.0 (PC)/7.0 or higher (MAC)

  • To take advantage of the latest technology incorporated in this site, and  to minimize the need for additional plug-in downloads, we recommend using Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher on a PC and 7.0 or higher on a MAC.

• Video resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels

  • If you currently see a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of this page and would like to eliminate this, you can do so by resizing your screen.  If you need help with your screen settings, please see our instructions for resizing your screen or changing your video driver.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

• To take full advantage of the interactivity of the courses, the following system profiles are REQUIRED:

  • PC

    Windows xp, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or higher or Windows 2003 Server or higher

    • 1.2 Gigahertz Pentium Processor

    • 512MB of RAM

    • 56 kbps modem Or DSL, Cable Internet

    • Sound Card

    • Speakers or headphones

    • 1440 X 900 display resolution with 32 bit color

    • RealPlayer Basic

ADDITIONAL SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

An Internet browser is also required.  Internet Explorer  8.0 or better is the recommended browser.  If you have an older version of Internet Explorer, in most cases a newer version may be downloaded free of charge.

	An Internet connection is a must.  You will be accessing the Internet via the following ways: Through your home computer (see system requirements) Through your school Or a public library
	You will need an Email account.  Please contact Westley-Davis Academy Information System (IS) Department for assistance in getting an Email account.
